Please be more specific. How did she do this?
    Hard Brexit now!

That wasnt too difficult as her first term she had driven the economy over a cliff - she created an unsustainable boom in the City of London - she was re-elected on the basis of the most crudest form of Jingoism thanks to the Falkland factor.

As for taxes - dont forget her catastrophic Poll Tax.

If anything Major was a better PM and much cannier at the economic helm - for me he was more representaive of the moderate Conservative Pary - and his own party to their disgrace - turned on him.

Her first term was spent trying to return the country to growth and prosperity. This required a period of austerity, just as Cameron is now admitting is necessary. Pain before the gain as they say. Now let's talk about how good Labour have been for our economy.

Dont forget CM one of my old mates is a senior figure in the Tory Cabinet - I am hardly anti-Tory but the fact is that Thatcher was rejected for all the right reasons by the UK public

Since you asked - where has NL been good for the economy ?

Easy - Trident upgrade - well good for the US economy - Public projects has been a boom for IT contractors - and the various wars in Iraq etc has been great news for the defence sector - unless you returned home maimed or in a bodybag - but hey , investors dont fight - they only profit on the weapon sales.

The irony is that Labour got into this mess by following thatchers free market ideology.

The economy was far worse at the end of Thatchers first term.

But she had the Falklands factor.

It was not purely about the spread of wealth, nor the creation of great social mobility that comes with a true meritocracy; it was about the spread of freedom.

Sorry - thats just fantasy - truth was it was a potlical climate of devil take the hindermost - ugly stuff, her demise was with the hated Poll Tax and a divided nation and now the utterly discredited
                  'free market' model.

                  Revolution ?

                  Hardly.
So if the free market is so "utterly discredited" are you going to give all the ill gotten gains that you have hypocritically and selfishly acquired back to the state?

What I find interesting is the number of people who have benefitted from her reforms (anyone remember the 1998 deregulation of the electricity markets that poured so much money into the pockets of so many contractors?) that seem to despise her so much. I can understand if you were a miner or a printer but you are not. You are a fat idle rich contractor who has enjoyed unimaginable wealth.

The truth is I suspect that the sneers about Thatcher are more to do with how she exposed socialism as the evil ideology that it is. Those of you lilly livered leftie liberals who carry such guilt and envy can no longer hide behind your socialist/semi socialist badge. If you feel guilty about your affluence then stick you hand in your pocket and cough up. If not then shut up.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

                    Don't assume we're all fat.

That's about right; in fact it's my biggest objection to the lefties. If all the lefties voluntarily hand half their income to the poor folks there won't be any poverty left (or maybe there won't be any lefties left). The rest of us can get on with generating the wealth that pays their salaries.
