On the bench

Chin up, I was on the bench for 4 months before I got a gig that paid half my last rate for twice the work.
Keep plugging away, you may be as lucky as me.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Life on the Bench
Can do other stuff but after 10 years Siebel, if you remove that from the CV, what's left is not really enough to pay the mortgage. BTW there's bugger all Siebel in the UK, especially new stuff. Happily I do German and French, but it does mean that the year-end doesn't happen now (that's just the UK).[/QUOTE]
The problem is that packing shelves at my local supermarket might bring in some cash but will look damm stupid on your my CV.
The European market is just as bad and the rates are down so Fees less travel expenses may not be profitable for UK based contractors.Comment
