you mean Britain's domination of the forex business ?

hmmm, I wonder why they don't want to join the Euro ?

You think London is a larger financial center than FF ?

I think you are missing the point here Beans old boy. The Box Heads have been enjoying long term prosperity but that was all based on a manufacturing base. A base that they have propped up for years. They are now over burdened with unions and out dated practices that the UK went through great pains to get rid of. The UK was left flexible, lean and mean and may continue to fight, but Germany is going down the pan and it will happen frighteningly quickly unless they do something about it.

          Like Gordon,

you need to forget about the state of the German economy,
and focus on the direction the British economy is going !

Whenever Gordon is asked about the state of the British economy,
he responds with nonsense about the German economy - strange.

Lone Gunman et al, are you saying there are no problems with the
          british economy ? everything's rosy ?

          Milan.

No mate, UK economy is stuffed too, but is far better placed to weather the coming storm than any other in Europe. Mostly due to the last Tory government biting the bullet to modernise it. Brown is trying to kick to death.

What I am trying to tell you is that Fritz is fooked! Does any von vont to buy a sekond hand booble kar?

              Hmmm

We are not talking about a particular Chancellor but the general strategic gist of economies in general. Yes there are problems with the British economy but these are tactical problems. The strategic direction was set correctly in the eighties, in my opinion. In any case we have never been any good at making things. The British genius lies in trading - witness the dominance of the City for 400 years now.
