I've bought my children a defibrillator and taught them how to use it.

        Best investment possible.

I think we can conclude that only solution is a large savings account and an arsenic pill for when it all runs out.

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. I imagine that in the future there will be a lot of children phoning the emergency services to report daddy 'turning into a smurf and lying very still'.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

If you want to make money, you need it to be fluid. You need to move it around from asset to asset, buy low, sell high, re-invest in something else.

What you don't need is a big pot, that you cannot access, and when you do, you find annuity rates appalling, and that you must buy one at a certain age and you cannot withdraw a decent lump sum, or that New Labour has raided it or seized it in the name of fairness, or to transfer it costs a fortune, and once you convert to an annuity, you die and all the wealth you have built is lost to a man in a suit and your children get nothing.

No, probably some British pension scam, or ‘Something Ignorant People Purchase’.

I live in NL, and here we have our own special schemes for losing our money in a fiscally attractive manner.
