I agree with the pension part - IMHO I've thought it for years - that pensions as we know them today will not exist when I retire (if I make it)

I don't think the USA will collapse - but I do think for many years people will have to get real. e.g. roof over my head, food on the table , rather than How much money can I make as quickly as possible.

When you said collapse, I thought you meant into the burning pits of hell for their sins.

Or in non-Christian (British) English, collapse in the aftermath of the supervolcano when it erupts.
Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.

While I think the US is really quite split, I don't think it's at the level of civil war. There is no evidence, e.g. that the military is anti-goverment and would mount a coup (e.g. as is the case in Pakistan).
There are small pockets of rabidly right-wing nutters, but as long as the army is on side these can be dealt with.
Additonally these bands of nutters are more inclined to fight each other than to organise themselves, like right wing cretins everywhere.
When you say "the" military are you talking about the National Guard or the many State Militia which amount to about half the total?

Not an expert but isn't there a federal US army?

Civil unrest will break out before the end of the year.

The Military and Guard will be called up to try to stop it.

            They won't be able to.

Big cities are at risk of becoming a free-fire death zone.

            ..
Isn't that the plot of Robocop ?

If the tsunami from the Canary Islands landslide doesn't get them first.
