I'm finding it very drinkable at the moment, with a much more refined taste than American beers (though admittedly my experience of those is limited). Have you tried the darker variant - I've yet to track that one down.Originally posted by expat View PostNot bad in the sun, but a bit too light. Too American, too much (slightly) fizzy drink, not enough real beer taste.
Arequipeña is better (must be more old Nazis in Arequipa
) but not so common here, or even in Lima.
Thanks for the tip on Arequipeña - I'll keep an eye out for that.Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment

I was showing off. AFAIK you only get it around Arequipa.....
Yes, Peruvian beers are much better than American, but they seem to me a bit the same type (short on hops) compared to European types.Comment

I did have a quick look on Beers of Europe (their selection is very good, quite diverse and not limited to Europe as their name would suggest) but no joy.Originally posted by expat View PostExcuse me

Have you ever partaken of Coopers Sparkling Ale? It has the same sort of character but much more "hoppy". Supposedly a very popular ale with wine producers.Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment

That's more likely to be your dodgy prostate Bazza, happens to a lot of blokes as they get older.Originally posted by cailin maith View PostActually it's more like a bucket.... and I wonder why I have to get up to wee so much in the night!!
