I've know several people who've had a hip replacement, all successfully.

When i had an op in December, part of the pre-op process was to check for MRSA infection, to see if i was a carrier. I was told that if I was, then I would have to wash in some special stuff for a while before the op.

I was OK, but I noticed that the nurse's station on the ward I was recovering on, had a list of all the patients who were positive for MRSA.

They did seem to be taking it very seriously and were taking extra precautions with the people who carry it.
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

What do the residents of the old people's home cheer when someone blows out their birthday candles?

I'd wait till the Tories get in. Much better hip replacements then. No one wants a Socialist hip in 'em.
