    Link to BBC Report.
Putin is a liar and an idiot - he is very good at killing political opponents and blowing up houses though.

Gas is linked to oil and it just takes 6-9 months for oil drops to feed into price of gas - notice how he is worried about gas price, that's because he is a secret stakeholder in Gasprom.

He's a liar and a criminal but he isn't stupid.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

He is not stupid when it comes to things natural for dictators - taking over all power when chances presents itself, however he is not very smart when it comes to economics - his PhD that he wrote (aboit oil prices actually) was proven to have been plagiarised from foreign source

He made strategic mistake by becoming Prime Minister and then saying things (like few months ago) that crisis does not exist in Russia, now rouble is being devalued pretty rapidly - all this will hit him next year, so I reckon they will throw away mask of democracy and go full dictatorship very soon.

just sit back and wait - Russia will be collapsing like a sack of tulipe by September at the latest - how much money can they keep pumping in from the reserves -which are dwindling by the DAY.....only thing that will save them is Oil above $80.

Russia needs another war to perk them up a bit.

Wars dont actually benefit those involved though, they just suck more and more money into wasted resource (things that blow up dont generate wealth or maintain residual asset value).

A war is basically a giant bonfire of burning money, one of the reasons Britain is so close to bankruptcy.

              Every shot down plane,
              is money down the drain.
              Every bomb detonated,
              is zero wealth generated.
              etc
              etc

So do we. Maybe we can help each other out?

Step 1 : round up all Russians living in Britain as informants.....

Er, what? War has been the basis of US economic planning for over 60 years. They seem to have done pretty well out of it too, until the last few months.
