Yes, a cat catches mice as it does anything else, i.e. according to its desires and not yours. They don't need to catch them to eat (you feed them) and they don't care whether you've got mice or not, so they just do it for a bit of fun. That may or may not get you clear of rodents.

A terrier OTOH will take exception to them and will not stop till the last one is gone. Unfortunately it will try to dig for them if need be, so is more suitable for outdoors.

Just recalling the feeling of dread realising proximity of mouse to tender parts, beautiful it most certainly wasn't! The whole thing was pure comedy gold though.

I was single at the time, it wasn't a poxy mouse I wanted in my undercrackers.

get a cat, you won't have to worry about dead mice or legless mice or sticky traps.

We have cats - they bring in mice, birds, frogs, squirrels, pigeons and once we had a half rat! some alive and some dead. we get blood and body parts all over.....

one of the cats is totally stupid so JUST kills stuff - but the other one likes to torture.

Maybe we should have got a ferret?

I'd stick to cats, Ferrets are VERY smelly and the females HAVE to mate every so often or they die. Unless my ferret owning colleague was having me on?
