Anybody know what NF is on about? I've 15 years in IT doing C, C++, VB, ASP, T-SQL, PL/SQL, VBA, etc...etc..
I realise that PHP is "great" and the applications built with it are brilliant (Digg, facebook, sugarCRM, etc...) Which is why I put this in general and not technical.
Oh BTW NF...we are seriously considering the PHP stuff and are not touching VB at all. I do have half a brain left after the wife chewed the other half to bits.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

NF is your typical opinionated geek.
"Oh, you don't want to be using your pointers like that. When I was a lad I used to code in machine code you know...."

I like to read NFs posts, just wouldn't want to go for a beer with him (not that he would anyway when he's got coding to do till 3am).Comment

Sorry, worked with too many backroom code monkeys that have no clue as to business/people skills.
"Don't do that it uses an extra machine cycle...."

I would give NF a job as a code monkey, he would be a greatv asset to a development team, but he is just an incredibly boring, sad, lonely, old man.Comment

Reading NF's post it seems to me:
1. He knows his stuff thoroughly
2. He also has a keen business head on him.
The rest of you fantasists (DP) and ne-er-do-wells (Tay) just spout constant crap.Hard Brexit now!

FFS, you're such a tit Tay. I've met NickFitz, and he's not boring at all.Originally posted by tay View PostYou are the most boring man alive.
Yes, we all like banter and one-liners, but this is supposed to be an IT contractor's group and Nick's post was bang on topic and very useful.
I knew Jscript.Net or whatever it is called (the language no one uses) was an embarrassment to Microsoft. But I didn't think they were keen to ditch VB.Net too. So thanks for your valuable insights Nick.
I expect Microsoft is keen for people to ditch *all* of their current languages and frameworks in due course, to keep making way for new ones such as Silverlight, whatever that is (I keep seeing pop ups advertising it.) After all, constant churn is where the profit is.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment
