      Me and Mrs Ferret are employed by the company (she does the admin work) so we will do the usual and buy a load of party food and have our party on the day before Xmas. We like to have turkey, potatoes, stuffing, vege's, Xmas puddings, a bottle or wine each, a bottle of port, cheese and biscuits etc on the day before Xmas eve and we eat it all at the party. Honest guv. We even have the photos to prove it should it ever be questioned.

      So we go shopping at M&S the day before Xmas eve and get a lot of food for our party. Some of it is left over and we eat it over Xmas but don't tell Hector as I think this may be against the rules.

        @Ratewhore,

        We are going for the tasting menu - but may have to either have soft drinks (unlikely even though its a weekday lunchtime!), or split the bill and pay for the wine seperately.

        Have you been? I've been to the Hinds Head a few times and always stare longingly out the window...

              @Ruprect

              Yep - booked it 3 weeks ago (2 months in advance).

              You can usually get a table midweek - its only the evenings and weekends that are impossible to get.

              I can't wait.

              Egg and bacon ice cream and snail soup!

                No I haven't, the price was far, far too much!! The reason I asked was because, as chef said, you'd be over the budgetary limit...

                  I think it's a bargain - £125.

                  I'm a real foodie and I just know i'll enjoy it more than 2 x normal restaurant meals.

                      The sound of the sea is pretty cool.

                      For a different experience you might want to try the waterside inn, just down the road, the food is astounding, its another world compared with hestons caff.
