That's not the sort of tone I would expect from the son of god, but hey.

I believe that many people use sniping software to automatically outbid the highest bidder just seconds before the close of the auction.

AtW, shouldn't you and Niall be working on a joint project?
10 minutes before the end is too early. Your bid appears on the web site and everyone else can outbid you by a quid (or minimum raise) because they can see your bid.
      For future reference.
Leave your bidding till the last 30 seconds then send, thus nobody sees your bid. You may still be beaten by others doing the same, or by a technology failure.
Decide how much you want to pay, you may get it for a lot less.

I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Appropriate tone for the gobsh1te who thinks he can give me advice regarding my job without actually knowing basics of ebay.

Yeah there is one called bidnapper I think. The manual sniping method is to run 2 browsers simultaneously of course - one you keep refreshing to get the current winning bidder info and the other you have your next bid pre-prepared to go with a single click.

There's a website that will do that for you.. unfortunately can't remember what it's called. Basicly, it puts in a bid a few pence higher than the current one about 30s before close. Sneeky.

AtW, I have a copy of your crawling software so I know exactly what your SKA is all about. As for giving you advice on your job, the offer was never there.

Btw, you set the tone of this discussion with your first reply to my post.

As for the rest of you folks, thanks for the advice. I'd best get some practice sniping.

At least the bastard ending up paying £48.51 more than he thought he was going to.

You may have it, but I don't think you understand.

This tone of personal insults was started by you. Let's just prove this easily:

                I said this:

"Then perhaps next time you will bid higher?

Doh, clearly you did not value the thing higher than the amount you stated, so what's wrong with you? You got exactly the deal you agreed to!"

                and you responded:

"I'm having a <rant> to make myself feel better and don't actually require advice from a jobless piece of tulipe like yourself.

How is the hunt for a *real* job coming along?"
