( I'm sure there's an English version of the story somewhere ).

I used to get up at 4:15, shower, get in the car at 4:30, then drive three hours to Folkestone. That Burger King coffee I drank while on the shuttle, always tasted great.
I dunno, 3 hours drive and sea-sickness to satisfy a Burger King craving.

Yeah, I read this in a Telegraph article a few weeks ago as well.

Starbucks et al have succeeded in selling an image/lifestyle where coffee is 'cool' so that is what you are paying for and not the actual product which, apparently, only costs pennies to make.

I never liked Starbucks, but do use my local Cafe Nero when at home. A mate of mine uses their wifi a lot and calls it his office.
I detest all those foamy milky concoctions, and dozens of pretentious french names which I can never remember which is which. Why can't coffee shops just do a decent cup of Gold Blend in proper mugs?

Too right, nice espresso hits the spot rather than fannying around with mochachocaccinos...

The coffee snobs will hate me, but Marks and Spencers Gold fairtrade is better than Nescafe GB and cheaper.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

                    Nescafe is mud, not coffee...

Gold Blend was, literally, a bitter disappointment.
