Unfortunately, I'm coming round to the idea that this may be true. The Tories have been very quiet of late...Older and ...well, just older!! -
I am familiar with the Act and I agree it is evil, but it won't be used to prevent an election on/before June 2010 - anyone fancy a wager?Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostWas it?Comment

Well, it's win-win for you isn't it?Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View PostI am familiar with the Act and I agree it is evil, but it won't be used to prevent an election on/before June 2010 - anyone fancy a wager?
If there is an election, you win £10.
If there isn't the country will be in such a state that you'll be unable to access funds to pay me...

In the current crisis he is actually doing quite well.Originally posted by chef View PostThe last conceivable day upon which the next General Election could take place is 3 June 2010...

up to 20 more months of Brown stuffing things up..
Alas he seems good at getting out of situations he should not have got into in the first place.Comment

Don't panic - by the time any election is called Brown/Labour will be unpopular enough to lose it. In polls at the weekend he had cut the Tory lead a bit, not destroyed it.Originally posted by ratewhore View PostUnfortunately, I'm coming round to the idea that this may be true. Probably because now that Gordo's doing the ONLY thing he could do, apart from topping himself, they want things to go smoothly, to save their own dosh. Once things settle, prepare for weeks of fighting and bitchery.Originally posted by ratewhore View PostUnfortunately, I'm coming round to the idea that this may be true. Gordon is starting to resemble Columbo more and more these days. Everyone loves Columbo, so.. Mark my words the BBC will have Columbo on 24-7 up until the next election, and all the best episodes too! Including the one with William Shatner guesting. Bloody left wing xxxx! The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Best Columbo, in my opinion, was The Conspirators - banned for years, owing to the IRA connection... even though it was not pro-IRA.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostGordon is starting to resemble Columbo more and more these days. Then again, Short Fuse was good.
So was Now You See Him...
...they were all pretty good, it seems.Comment

Well it doesn't fool me.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostIn the current crisis he is actually doing quite well.
He's doubled the size of Tolley's Guide with his strangulating and often pointless new regulations, but done nothing about the big problems. The shit inevitably hits the fan, so he does the only thing anyone can do, throw taxpayers' (our) money at it.
Remind me, what has he done quite well?Comment
