The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.” -

although his latest (the latest one that I've read anyway) - "Making Money" - is a bit too much like the previous one - "Going Postal", so I hope he's not running out of ideas. Unfortunately he's only got a limited time left
It's Deja-vu all over again!

He tends to find characters then stick with them; rincewind, death, vimes, granny weatherwax etc. So it's not unusual that sometimes they can be similar, usually the oens he doesn't write about again are the not so great books.Originally posted by KathyWoolfe View PostWhat they said (times infinity)

There's a difference between writing something with the same characters in and something with virtually the same plot. In these two books the premise is more or less the same. Even so I enjoyed both, but I just wish he'd written something else between them......
I've read the two "Johnny and the...." books and enjoyed them and i've read the three books about the carpet people and they were good too. I've not quite started reading the ones with the "Wee Free Men" in but I've no doubt I';ll get around to them soon
It's Deja-vu all over again!
