Plane slips off runway in Madrid

I imagine that full thrust on only one engine when in mid air is a bit like flying in a strong cross wind. When the wheels are still on the ground it won't work that way.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away. -
Indeed - and I wonder why people seem to think that it's worse on a rear engined plane than one with the engines on the wings? (I don't pretend to know if it is or isn't - but the two engines are certainly further apart if there's one on each wing)Originally posted by Sysman View PostI imagine that full thrust on only one engine when in mid air is a bit like flying in a strong cross wind. I would think it might actually be better on a rear engined plane. The issue would surely be the rotational force in relation to the centre of yaw. I would imagine this is greater with wing mounted engines.Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View PostIndeed - and I wonder why people seem to think that it's worse on a rear engined plane than one with the engines on the wings?
