                I'd never heard of 3 storey houses being termed Townhouses before either. To me a Townhouse is part of a terrace not a detatched house.

                I suspect that's why HAB mentioned a 2 storey bungalow which of course makes no sense as a bungalow by common use definition has 1 storey.

                      Aye, they are usually terraced houses, albeit smart, fashionable ones typically.

                      I have always thought a townhouse was on 3-storeys and I thought that was its defining characteristic.
