Saw Gordon Brown on the telly yesterday all smiles saying he was going to host a bash for team GB so he could meet them (bet they'll look forward to that one).
Crossed my mind that it is his party promoting 'fairness' to the extent where kids don't do competitive sports any more and grammar schools are bad cos they're elitist and more lefty bullcarp like that.
See what happens when you put money into people who show talent at something? They start winning. Shame he can't see the irony in that. Maybe if NL started focussing on high achieving pupils at school, the stats might start speaking for themselves...
Stab stabbity stab etc...Older and ...well, just older!!Comment

Yeah, the Olympic ideal appears to be orthogonal to socialist principles. The fittest gets Gold while the majority of losers get nothing. All that money invested in stadiums, etc ends up with one person getting the Gold. Survival of the fittest at it's most basic, with a hefty dose of national tribalism thrown in for good measure.Originally posted by ratewhore View PostSaw Gordon Brown on the telly yesterday all smiles saying he was going to host a bash for team GB so he could meet them (bet they'll look forward to that one).
