    Talking of lubing trunnions, I've got the maintenance chart on the garage wall for my Dad's first car, a 1948 Standard 12. There are eight nipples on the front suspension that need greasing every fifty miles, and the longest service interval is 5000 miles when you're supposed to change the gearbox oil
    We are having a Standard 12 as our wedding car. I'll make sure I ask the driver if he's greased his nipples when he arrives.
