Ah, the T&Cs the last refuge of a scoundrel.Originally posted by Moose423956 View PostThe Ts&Cs are quite clear. Some people are not adhering to them. That's too far.

And there's the issue IMO. How can you know if someone's crossed the line? This is part of what I was hoping to address with my comments that led to the handbagging sessions - wasn't meant to be specific but I guess that (regrettably) didn't come across - there's the problem with using a specific example to highlight a general issue.Originally posted by Xenophon View Posthow far is too far?
I guess it's down to persistence out-of-context, and that line where 'banter' becomes 'vitriol', and constant sniping.Comment

I couldn't be a moderator, I'd be too strict. And what makes you think I'm taking the piss? If you sign up to the forum you agree to its Ts&Cs, so you should abide by them.Originally posted by Churchill View PostAh, the T&Cs the last refuge of a scoundrel.

It is the culture here and the moderators like it that way.Originally posted by Moose423956 View PostUnfortunately, every thread seems to include personal attacks of some sort.
People before you have complained and said "let's play nice" but everyone says "you've got to be tough to be a contractor" and the mods back that view.
I used to agree with you. Now I realise to fit in that I had to change.
So quit whinging. My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment

I don't know if too-strict moderation is the answer - as it would create a 'nanny' culture. Remember the last 'cull' when the mods cracked down on all this? How several members left in disgust?
People who raise their head too far above the parapet and universally annoy tend to be booted - especially if comments border on crude lasciviousness or racism. Others are 'part of the scenery' and the harmless nutters we regard with bemusement (NickyG for instance) add character.
Trolling can be funny to a point, deliberate wind-up merchants that take it too far can be a bit too much, if they persist for ages.
I'm not a fan of persistent bitching if it's one-sided. That is harrassment, and shouldn't be tolerated IMO, but it's only my opinion. The mods' opinion is final, and they may not share these views. It's not a job I envy.Comment
