One tip for those that are considering this: make sure that there is a way that you can still get access to UK health care.

The latest "green credits" brainwave and increasing tax on older vehicles will just make them worthless pieces of scrap. I doubt any of these cars/vans do high mileages because of their age so wheres the fookin pollution problem? The poorer folk won't even be able to afford to go to work FFS.

Australia looks very appealing to me, nice warm climate and there's plenty of work!

I'm moving to Canada for a number of reasons, firstly the US company I do most work for is relocating to Canada later this year and it makes sense for me to be there as my role will expand. The guys over there are under the impression that I live in some kind of third world country and they wouldn't be far wrong (the UK as a whole not just Scotland).

Secondly, I have no ties here and as Plan B takes hold we've decided to set up a subsidiary company in Canada as the bulk of our sales will be in North America.

Thirdly, I can't wait to leave this tuliphole

Plus they've got oil. The rest of the world will have some serious waking up to do come 2015 or so. And by 2050 things may get really interesting (wrt first world economies collapsing) if we don't don't get our act together. Get in before the masses pick up on this and they close the flood gates.
