And what fuel do they use, in general?

The BBC has spent the whole of the ‘World at One’ programme on this issue. I have found the BBC, particularly the TV 6 O’clock news, to be an excellent contra indicator for many markets. So we might be near a short-term peak.

On the other hand, the one-eyed, wofter, snot-goblin has been on the case too. He has had words with the Saudis to produce more crude. He might as well stir his tea the opposite direction for all the difference that will make.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Per petrolprices.com, the average price of unleaded is 114p per litre.

          That is $2.25 per litre

A US gallon is 3.785 litres.

So the price per gallon is $8.50. Just over double the US. The relative gap has narrowed, even though the money gap has increased due to VAT.

          Not $10 a gallon yet

Yup. In the evenings it's most noticable. The main roads around me are almost empty after 8pm.

Gordos lot will see this as a good thing and we're all reducing our carbon footprints as the good little robots that we are. Expect the cost of fuel to stay at this level after some meaningless statistics have been released.

I think what might feasibly happen is that there will be a growing surge in the number of push-bikes, mopeds and motorbikes.

              I envisage something like this..

Could this be London in 2+ years time ?

The NEW rush hour traffic ?

Parking at Lakeside Shopping Centre (2009) ?

A typical commuter belt "car park" in Essex (2010) ?

Anoter view of London in 2+ years time ?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

This will not be a good thing for us as less cars using petrol will mean reduced tax revenue, as over 70p per litre is tax, so New Lie will have to invent or increase another tax to compensate.

Awsome pictures, but sadly I fear the UK could be more like this:

                  Backwards, not forwards
If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.

The roads were busy for me yesterday evening, but it turned out a car had broken down in an awkward spot and was blocking traffic on about 6 other roads simultaneously. A woman and her kids were trying to push it up a hill while everyone else watched. I got out and offered to help and discovered it was still in gear, and pushed it onto the path out the way. Yesterday I seem to have done nothing but good (unpaid) deeds, including for a previous client. I’ll never get rich at this rate.
