Ditto, I'm raking up the 5% cashback. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

So take your business to another cash & carry.Originally posted by Sausage Surprise View PostMakro don't take it - they're a big chain.
Even John Lewis take Amex now. It took them about 15 years to get the idea of credit cards."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Credit where it's due
Cheers my dears.
Next question: Because AmEx isn't universally welcomed, I'm going to put in for a visa too.
If I apply for them both in quick succession will I seem like a desperate-for-credit slag and get turned down? I've never asked for much credit before
What's the best strategy?Comment

and in France they'll laugh in your face if you try using an Amex cardOriginally posted by Sausage Surprise View Postand a lot more than most other cards which is why hardly anyone takes Amex in the UK.

Same probably applies anywhere in Europe, except maybe Swizerland,
I found it was widely accepted in eastern europe when I was traveling regularly, but then I was 5* all the way."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

I'll second that. I use my Amex for everything. Even the local co-op takes Amex now.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostThat's bollox. Not taking amex is a rarity nowadays - especially in big chains.
I can't think of anywhere I've not been able to use it. The cash back is great and is why I have one!

What's the catch? If they don't make any money from you in 12 months they send someone around to your house to kill you.Don't ask Beaker. He's just another muppet.Comment
