    Very different.

So why do so many people vote for a govt that takes their money away from them then?

I get the feeling it's more than a floating voter issue this time. There is a new generation of voters ready to vote, ones who have struggled with tuition fees, mad house prices and higher tax. It seems to me, from vox pops and anecdotal evidence these guys are turning to the Tories. There could also be the effect of the house price wealth creating nouveaux riche voters ready to switch. Add to that a general feeling that the government is stale and ready for a change.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Excellent question - why did they do it in the 80's ?
You'd have to ask them, I guess.

Because they believe Blair's vision that it was all "investment" in schools, housing, NHS and therefore a price worth paying. That and their houses went up so much in value it made them feel rich.

It is clear to the deluded "Mr & Mrs average" now that the trillions £££ have been wasted and their houses are going to be worth feck all in the coming years.

Nope, it is because so many work in the public sector or are welfare beneficiaries

Sadly it ended up being an investment in bureaucracy and more public sector waste...

This must be Gordons worst week in politics since last week.

                      threaded in "Brian Blessed" mode
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
