I'm fairly sure what was re-legalised was "absinthe lite", a variant concoction nowhere near as strong and dodgy as as the original (although apparently you can still get bootleg original in southern France, if you're crazy enough to want it and know where to ask). -
IIRC only the psychotropic ingredient has been removed from absinthe lite.
