Cheers all, some good comments here have helped put things back in line, a couple of bottles of wine and the love of a good woman helps too !
Decided to write it off unless I hear otherwise, still think a phonecall would have been in order - Note-this is not an agent I am dealing with, who I would not expect a call from.
Seemed to tick a few boxes and the bench is starting to chaff a bit after a couple of months.
Dust off, get back in the game and will push hard for the next one.
Good luck to all looking at the mo.

Luke - on a serious note, have you had someone review your cv? If you've sent so many off with so few results perhaps it needs examining - either that or your skills are niche?

          luke,

a man has to do what a man has to do

don't wait mate, you've been on the bench long enough already

it's time to step up a gear

          business is business

from now, make 100% effort to tune your cv exactly to fit each advert you reply to, yes it will take more effort (no pain no gain) and yes you may have (cough, no I didn't say this, but needs must and all that) to employ a certain amount of poetic license in your cv to meet each requirement but how many job adverts containing all the buzz words really reflect the actual role, as long as you can carry it off put it down, your job is to get to the interview and now you need to stpe up a gear as you're getting to the point of being on the bench too long

          just my two pence

          all the best

not everybody will agree to these suggestions but there we are horses for courses that's life

when you have mouths to feed you have to do what you have to do

          Milan.

It's because it's what you love, Luke. It is who you were born to be. And here you sit, thinking. Well, Luke is not a thinker. Luke is a contractor. He is a doer. And that's what you need to do. You don't need to think. You need to contract. You need invoicing. You need to go out there, and you need to rev your engine. You need to fire it up. You need to grab ahold of that line between success and chaos, and you need to wrestle it to the ground like a demon cobra! And then, when the fear rises up in your belly, you use it. And you know that fear is powerful, because it has been there for billions of years. And it is good. And you use it. And you ride it; you ride it like a skeleton horse through the gates of hell, and then you win, Luke. You WIN! And you don't win for anybody else. You win for you, you know why? Because a man takes what he wants. He takes it all. And you're a man, aren't you? Aren't you?

Bod, you are the best - thank you kindly!

I cannot, however, take the praise for the origination of this - it is plagiarised from Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

                    Glad you liked it nonetheless.
