Actually, let me guess at milanbenes' answer to this:

Of course, that was in the good old days. The board's gone way downhill since then, it's not the same as it used to be, etc. etc. etc."

I find the best thing to do is give old tat to charity shops. Its fast, convenient, and you're helping good causes.

Unless its really valuable of course...

But don't do what I did last week - gave the charity shop a box of goodies not realising there were some old fireworks in there.

There's a good trick on eBay at the moment where people are selling 'unopened Xmas presents', allegedly from rich and/or generous friends or relatives (add some story about it being an estranged parent trying to buy favour etc) so the buyer takes a punt that they'll get a bargain. No doubt, only to find some old tat inside.

I can't believe people are falling for this. I've nearly run out of wrapping paper!

I dug up some old railway sleepers the previous owners had laid as a 'garden feature' -heavy as feck & rotten but all described acurately and sold for twice my expectations...money (literally) for old rope

I can't believe there are IT contractors talking about making the odd £20 quid here or there from tat. I thought we were meant to be rich!
