Don't we have 'Siberian' temperatures every now and then? At what point do they become normal UK winter temperatures??
Just the usual unprepared UK coming to a standstill, you’d have thought we would have learnt a lesson by now.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Wow -2 . Let me know when that becomes news. Once again Britian the laughing stock of europe. Wait till the HYS get a hold of this one.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."
Spock: "Trained? Judging from you, I would have guessed it was trial and error."Comment

According to the BBC, there might be snow falls of as much as 2cm!
My god, how will we survive this?
And the snow is expected to lay on the ground for several hours!
OMG!
Doomed!!!Comment

Poof s
What is it with this country?
Anything more than an inch of snow and the whole of Britain comes to a standstill, unlike the USA, Germany, Switzerland etc etc where snow is a constant feature throughout the winter.
Actually, for a country that is officially classed as part of 'Northern Europe', we get very little snow.
Last time it snowed properly, most parents turned up at school with their children and despite the Headmistress wanting to keep the school open, the local authority asked them to close for H & S reasons. Part of the PC NL culture.Comment

Would you want money spent on something that is unlikely to happen? fleets of gritters standing by 'just in case'?
I think our approach on the whole is the best we can hope for...How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment
