I'd suggest anything which would probably not break as taking it back might be a tad expensive. Stick with clothes etc and you can't go far wrong. When I used to travel out there I used to pack a small amount of work clothes and that was it. For jeans I'd just head off to the shops and buy new. For a pair costing £50 you can usually find them for about $50, making them less than £25.
I also know somebody who did a roaring trade in guitars. Basically it comes down to the same thing. What we pay in £ they pay in $, so with the exchange rate you can get them for about half price. Then he would flog it on this side of the pond.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
