Thankyou for a very clear answer- so how did Italy and up on the losing team?"Is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like? If that is the case then we have free speech."- Elon Musk -
Well, fascism and nazism were pretty close philosophically as well as Germany and Italy were close geographically, plus Mussolini thought he was on a winning team and all looked that he was right up until maybe winter 1943.Originally posted by Jog On View PostThankyou for a very clear answer- so how did Italy and up on the losing team?
One might say it was fate for Italy to be in Axis, unlike Franko in Spain who made very wise choice to stay neutral and did not join Axis, even though he was helped to win by Luftwaffe as well as getting other help from Hitler.
Thing is, if Hitler did not start WW2, then it would have been Stalin who did it, and I think in this case the roles would have reversed - Hitler and his forces would have been fighting for freedom of Europe - it sounds totally crazy, but if Stalin had another year then it would have been Soviet concentration camps in Europe, not German.Comment

Most of Hitlers munitions were supplied by the Swiss, a supposedly neutral country. they also helped fund Hitlers war machine.Originally posted by AtW View PostThat was USSR in 1939 - this allowed Hitler to attack Poland, also USSR supplied a lot of war materials to Germany why it was fighting Britain.
The main responsible person for WW2 is certainly Hitler, then comes Stalin.

No, it did not work out like that because Hitler attacked first - soviet concentration camps were in USSR and Europe only got German ones.Originally posted by Jog On View PostBut it didn't work out like that - soviet concention camps across europe...Comment
