Christmas is one thing, Christianity another. Fact is that despite the origins of the festival on 25th Dec, it has become the principle festival of the Christian faith.

Christianity is by far the majority faith of this nation - and much of our culture and institutional history has been built on or for Christianity. It has defined and influenced a great deal of our national identity, and should not be 'on an equal footing' with other religions.

Clearly you have no idea do you. Christianity was around long before those "dirty arabs" religion was even a glint in the mailmans eye!

Generally speaking I think Christianity in the UK now is a lot less aggressive than it used to be and in my view they can exist just fine since they no longer cause troubles. On the other hand other religions - or even cons like Scientology are very aggressive and make excessive demands - frankly in this day and age they should be grateful that there are no laws prohibiting their stuff because in any other field doing what they do would lead to jail under fraud laws.

But wouldn't they just go to SJD and create a company called Scientology LTD. Can't be fraud if your in 1 of those.

Scientology is not a recognised religion in the UK and they are actually banned in Germany.

I thought Christmas was to celebrate the coming of the Argos new year sale?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
