UEFA won't ban Dida even though he look a right fool, but there could be a couple of matches played behind closed doors for the Tics though... -
My Partner wants the hoops to win through all the way to when they meet his team - Rangers.....then he wants his team to slaughter themOriginally posted by snaw View PostI hope Dida the diddy wakes up this morning and hang's his head in shame. He's a fcuking disgrace.
Anyway 2-1 to the hoops. Scottish football is on a rare up at the moment.

Too right, they'd be lucky to score against us in the final, more like the bhoys slaughtering the huns ...Originally posted by daviejones View PostThat ain't gonna happen though so he is gonna be disappointed...

My take on it is that we will get a fine and not much else. A number of things lead me to this view:-
1) AC Milan are not making too big a thing of it.
2) The referee did not add on any extra time for it and UEFA waited on his report before commenting on it. They have specifically asked for an answer from Milan as to why he was substituted, so there must have been something in either the official observer's report and/or the ref's report to warrant such a request.
3) UEFA insist upon there being no barriers around pitches for safety reasons and are presumably aware of the possibility of random individuals doing idiotic things like this.
4) The blame for the incident can be attributed to the actions of one individual and both the club and the Justice system have aleady acted to prevent it from reoccurring.
5) The incident cannot seriously be said to have materially influenced the outcome of the match.
6) Only a few short years ago both UEFA and FIFA awarded the Celtic fans a fair play award. It would then appear a bit of an overreaction to penalise them too heavily for an isolated incident such as this, especially when they seem to be suspicious of Dida's overreaction.
7) To come down too harshly upon them would set a dangerous precedent whereby rogue fans of any given team's rivals could singlehandedly cost clubs their place in any given competition.
Just my thoughts and perhaps I am being a bit over-optimistic, but whatever happens nothing can detract from the performance. Awesome!!
Oh yes, and did I mention they got a soft penalty too? Seems to be something almost mandatory when we come up against the top seeds in our CL groups!

Or, if you see your team losing, just don the other team's colours and run onto the pitch and slap the goalie, in the hope that the match will have to be replayed. And keep doing it until your team wins. Unless one of their fans does the same thing.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View Post7) To come down too harshly upon them would set a dangerous precedent whereby rogue fans of any given team's rivals could singlehandedly cost clubs their place in any given competition.Comment

in these two teams, Rangers have won more than Celtic - apart from against each other. So I'm hoping that they stay apart and either both stay in to the final or they both get knocked out.

Rangers might have a better domestic record, but they haven't and probably never will win the European cupOriginally posted by KathyWoolfe View PostSince I've been interested
