IMHO you are wrong. It is the existance of an empire that has assisted in bringing ethnic minorities to the UK. What you are alluding to is the somewhat discredited concept of Multiculturism. The idea that different ethnic groups have their own area and do not mix. This is the opposite of the other idea that we absorb aspects and languages of various cultures. (The concept of democracy can be traced to Anglo-Saxon and parts of our language are latin (Romans) French (Normans) etc.

Is that multi-culturalism? The creation of ghettos! It seems very odd. Its not what I think other countries would describe it as. And it is not what I would define it as.

I thought that the mass immigration did start until after the empire was dissolved. But yes point taken.

Mass immigration started in the 50's under Labour. People were drawn from the Commonwealth countries, notably Caribbean & India.

It is a Socialist invention. Instead of educating and training your own people, you simply pull them from wherever. Cheaper in the short term.

However if the millions on long-term disability benefit don't want to work, what are you going to do about it? Or what are you going to do about the smaller and smaller proportion of the native population studying science/maths?

I would make science and maths so easy to pass that everyone gets an A*+ and make the disability forms easier to fill in.

Make the soft options of media studies, arts etc. totally self funded to anyone who wants to take them

Provide incentives to take Maths / Science degrees

Stop importing labour to fill these knowledge gaps - & salaries will rise

Tighten up on disability criteria - the best therapy is working through your disability not reliance
