Are you per chance biased?Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostAnyone with money in Barclays might want to shift it to, say, just for example, Nationwide (in Swindon

If you owe your bank a million you have a problem - owe them a billion and they have a problem.Originally posted by kirk View PostI owe Barclays quite a bit in loans; might be good for me if they go under

I understand what you say, but part of my past says a Great Big Whoopee!Originally posted by sasguru View PostIf Barclays is about to collapse, glee is the last thing you should be feeling.
The repercussions will be severe all round.
Wind it back 15 years and someone created a poster with the slogan "Barclays - the Death of the Businessman", or similar, with a graphic of a suited businessman hung on a lamp post. They didn't kill me, but they gave me an unreasonably hard time. FFS all my customers were using me as a source of free credit. Then when I finally got paid a good lump, Barclays fecked up a customer and bounced the cheque on me.
No sympathy whatsoever here. I reckon one good reason is that there are folks out there like me who have bad memories of those days, and want revenge.
But like you, I do fear the consequences.
Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

But we've learnt from our experiences from 1929 as follows:Originally posted by sasguru View PostIf Barclays really are in trouble then we are really in deep doo-doo - 1929 stylee.
- Fund offices in Mayfair are low rise, so there is a chance of survival.
- The windows at Moneylender Towers and The Wharf can't be opened
I'm investing in Paracetamol manufacturers and exhaust pipe tubes. You heard it here first!
So, you see, it really is different this time.Comment
