So turning it on its head, if we find an English city where there is a majority or large proportion of "non white english" workers it would be perfectly legal and acceptable to the racial equality people to advertise for "white english" only applicants. I'd really like to try that and see what happens! Again they're just shooting themselves in the foot - perfect fodder for the BNP etc. What we need is a level playing field - remove ALL discrimination (i.e. sex, religion, sexual orientation, age, fat/thin, red hair, ugly/pretty, Man Utd or Liverpool supporter, etc). That doesn't happen overnight, it happens with education and life experience. I'm all for a complete ban on all discrimination, but it takes time to happen, but it will happen. People are trying to change years of incorrect preconceptions far too quickly and going too far the other way, harming their cause in the long run.

If they do indeed allow Scottish, Irish and Welsh people to work has she considered that this may be a breach on EU rules allowing the free movement of workers.
Further if they do indeed have more restrictive requirements for white workers than coloured then this is still a breach of the Race Relations Act.Comment

So if I lived in Southall I would probably be in the minority and should be able to get any job? Glad I don't live in 'off-white England' anymore if this is what it is coming to. As the article stated, people should be judged on their merits...if a minority want to be part of the majority then they should strive to integrate into the majority, possibly...For me this is a racist action and the young woman should take both the placement company and the agency to court.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
