I'm torn between the following:

1. Bugatti Veyron. Probably a bit over the top and I know the permies will all be

2. McLaren F1. Lets face, knocking on a bit, so a bit chav for me.

3. FA-22 Raptor. Speed cameras are not a worry. Two seater only. No space for shopping.

4. Space Shuttle. Good turn of speed, pricey for my needs, and needs a big client car park to land in. Not a confortable commute.

Have you considered the HMS Belfast ?

Plenty of room and lots of parking spaces just as long as your client is within walking distance of a decent harbour!

Also if the agency start playing up, just threaten to bomb their offices

had the old zetec 2ltr sporty focus in 2001-ish I think ?, after we got rid of the audi quattro a4 tugboat (which was a nightmare), and the focus was like a breath of fresh air!

If you went for a new Citroen C4, the most efficient 1.6 diesel, you'd get a free pass for the congestion charge under the new rules about to be introduced. (Class B for emissions, the last time I checked the only non-miniature hatchback that qualified.)

Edit: but I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a car just now, I reckon that within three years major manufactures will be selling electric all-wheel drives that do 0-60 in under five seconds, with 300 miles range on a charge that can take only 10 minutes. Niche manufactures are promising to deliver cars next year based on new Lithium battery technology and electric wheel motors from PML Flightlink. And as Jay Leno (who owns a 1908 car built by Thomas Edison) pointed out in his Sunday Times column, electric cars contain virtually nothing that can go wrong, and nothing that needs maintenance. (Other than tyres and windscreen wipers, I suppose.)

The PML flightlink web site is worth a visit. I particularly like the bit where they explain that actually the only limit on acceleration (and braking for that matter, since the electric motors do both) is the ability of the tyres to grip the road. In other words, engine power isn't a constraint at all, if you want to customise your car to go faster, just fit bigger or stickier tyres.
