The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.” -

Send out a message that downloading this stuff is as good as actually taking part in it. That way you will stop all the "I was only looking not doing" mob from underwriting the continuation of such abominations. Castration would also make a good follow-up tactic for any repeat offenders.
You know it makes sense, and for those on here suggesting a softly softly approach to these perverted animals, shame on you.

Both are implausible individually, but together seem like he was just clutching at straws.
At the end of the day, he did download images of child abuse onto his computer, and he's got to expect punishment for that.
B or C.
To me that is significantly worse than just hanging on to a few dodgy images that happened to come his way, or perhaps any illegal images found while surfing (although I wouldn't condone even that).Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

Possession of such material does not necessarily mean that the owner would act that way. He was found not guilty on the abuse charge.
So I’ll go for option A.
I have a 2 & 6 yr old Grandaughters. I would give my life for them and take the life of anyone who tried to harm them, and would be more than willing to do the same for any defenceless child.
As long as we pander to these predators and their followers & supporters, we place our children in danger.
