Actually I always thought that too.
I mean teeth are rubbish aren't they?
Why put a whacking great big nerve right in the middle too?
Tooth decay and consequent infection used too be one of the biggest killers in the world.
Imagine if you had metal teeth, stainless steel, it would be so much better.
So QED, either God doesn't exist, or exists and is stupid.
Any religious types out there like to offer a counter-argument?

      Yes there is.

Your Wisdom Teeth are there to replace other teeth that "should" get worn out.

Am I the only one here to have wisdom teeth that have come through OK? When they were coming through I asked my dentist about getting them taken out and he said there was enough room for them so not to bother...

Thanks for the WaterPick link though GJ - gonna get me one of those! You a City fan by any chance?

Mine came through OK because I had 4 teeth removed as an adolescent to make room for a brace. Top and Bottom!

Me too - bit of minor 'teething' type pain, but nothing serious.

                  Still got all mine.

Someone I knew had all four wisdom teeth out in hospital. It was very painful and she looked like a hamster for a couple of weeks afterwards.

I had one of my bottom wisdom teeth taken out at the Dental School in Sheffield for free... The dentist had her knee in my chest - pulling with all her might at a pair of pliers... Eventually the tooth shattered from the pressure so she had to cut the gum away and drill into the jawbone to dig the rest of the roots out. apparently the roots curled under at the bottom so they were locked into the jawbone pretty well.

The fun didnt stop there as the hole that was left bled solidly for 18 hours until i had to go to casualty and have it stitched. joy...

I went private to have the other one out.

                      Well I survived.

It seemed to take a couple of goes to get enough anesthetic into me, and I still felt it a little bit, which was a bit of a worry. But the whole thing only took 15 minutes.

So sitting here with half my face numb. No doubt it'll start to hurt in a little while.

Cheered me up a bit to see the dentists' receptionist had more cleavage than I thought was possible.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
