There has been a lot of hype I agree but mostly justified, the guy is only 22 years old and it's his first season in Formula 1, that's got to be something to be admired, even if he is in one of the best cars!
F1 was better when only the best 11 finishes (or whatever it was) was being used. That way you could win races and crash out a couple of times and still win the championship!

He is British therefore he should be ridiculed by his fellow countrymen... it's the British way.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Yeah, the press and media need to start getting on his back as well.

No, Let's be reasonable, and not all James Allen about it. He ruins the F1 coverage with his amateur observations. "Hamilton is winning the race", hang on mate he hasn't pitted yet!

"It's amazing what Lewis is doing, even Schumacher wasn't this good in his first year" .. he was in a crap car James, Hello James, the car, the thing with the four wheels, it makes a bit of a difference.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

              I noticed.

The F1 bores are out in force and they are too busy waxing lyrical about who has the best car, tyres, haircut, buttocks, etc., to notice my serious post.

I maintain that Sergeant Blast and Private Meekly in the Army Surplus Special would be hard to beat. Although Professor Pat Pending in the Convert-a-Car is very fast on a good day.

                But he has.

Lewis is the first rookie to get 8 podium finishes in a row. The current World Champion has not managed that!

He is also joint 2nd in number of victories.

The accomplishments of Massa and Raikonen pretty well get lost with the "why oh why did not Hamilton win!" whinge. I hate to see the day Hamilton's car breaks - will the comentators be wearing black? I understand that sport can be a bit homey...but ITV really has taken it too far lately.

In the race on Sunday they totally missed that Alonso had short fueled his car - not to get ahead of ferrari - but only to beat Hamilton. Dismal coverage I tell ya.

Let's see he if eclipses Villeneuve

                    Jacques Villeneuve
Debut: 1996; Points: 78; Races won: 4; Championship standing: 2nd
The toughest benchmark for Hamilton to beat will be Jacques Villeneuve’s electrifying debut season for Williams in 1996. Despite already being an IndyCar champion in the US, many had expected Villeneuve to spend his first year with the British team learning the ropes and shoring up the title challenge of his more experienced team mate Damon Hill.

Villeneuve, however, had other ideas and very quickly the cynics in the paddock realised they had underestimated his ambitions. Not content with slicing two-tenths off Hill’s qualifying time to take pole position, Villeneuve, looking to equal Giancarlo Baghetti’s 1961 record, was racing for a win at his very first Grand Prix in Australia. The French Canadian would have pulled it off too, were it not for an unfortunate oil leak on his FW18, which forced him to settle for second behind Hill.

Thereafter the season was dominated by a see-saw struggle for the title between the two Williams team mates. Aside from the misfortune of four retirements and a seventh-place finish in Italy, Villeneuve challenged his veteran team mate every step of the way, making it onto the podium in 11 of the 16 races. In the end, however, it was Hill who won the crown, after claiming five victories to Villeneuve’s four. Encouragingly for Hamilton, however, Villeneuve went on to take the title the following year.

                      xeno, xeno, xeno.

look. you need to separate fact from fiction. ok it might feel as though blast and meekly should be deserving holders of the greatest racers. but frankly the stats just don't add up. with only 3 wins and 1 second placing they rank as the second worst! only dastardly and muttley beat them to the bottom.

no, the fact is that the slag brothers in the boulder mobile are the undisputed champions. 3 wins, 8 seconds and 3 third placings make them 10 points, yes a whole ten points, better than the next team: the amazing buzzwagon (piloted by rufus ruffcut and sawtooth).

frankly hamilton and his ilk should be studying the slags.
