You make it sound like gay people are a rare thing or a mascot for the company. I have a few gay friends and they are a good laugh. Only a small minority of gay men demonstate stereotypical homosexual mannerisms. Also, it is quite common to keep things private in the workplace (where you cannot choose your companions) yet lead an open life socially.
