THe new developments further south (past Marsa Alam or whatever its called) are a wee bit remote for infrastructure.

That whole coast is facing complete ecological meltdown. Any reef within range of dayboats is shagged and the number of (mostly russian) tourists piling in there seems to double each year so it ain't going to get any better. I don't see how water, sanitation & electricity long-term viable.

Having done all the doom-mongering, it is pretty cheap

Last time i was in Egypt there was a walah stood by the urinals with a pitcher of water to flush after you'd done your business... has the sanitation system improved?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Maybe it's as simple as that. But I worried they will sell it to one of the neighbours if I don't buy it. Bought the top floor so I would not have noise over head.

Thanks Rantor really cheered me up, I am buying in Sharm about 15 min from the airport so infrastructure should be ok. Crumbling mess is the current style I am told, but I think they call it Retro

has anyone here bought in Croatia or nearby? It looks good but I think it's already very expensive; especially by the coast.

Did a trip out there last year, yes very expensive. Looked at some renovation projects as well, was put off when I found some of the property were been sold by European’s that bought 5 or more years ago and still had not got planning permission. They were making a profit mind.
