All the same I think it devalues the forum in that people may see someone's got thousands of posts, but only a small percentage were 'earned'.
Maybe drivel posts should be counted seperately if they aren't already, then someone that's given Godlike status has earned it from years of entertaining the troops, rather than rattling up a load of drivel posts in a few weeks.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

I have 9692 total - 5906 in tpd. so 1214 outside tpd will do it.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostYou still need another 1000 non-TPD posts to get there.
But I still have my eye on catching a few tpders totals...Comment

Most of what zeity and atw post is total nonsense. Most of the others with large posts beast newbies or everyone.
It is all rather subjective - would you not agree?Comment

Of course, the mods could just scrap all the number of posts, as happened on a forum Xen uses
Or just delete TPD

Or ignore posts in TPD from statistics

But where does it end? Should the counting thread be discounted? It's not really worth considering, to be honest - does it make any difference to how you use or perceive the forum?Comment

Just to clarify your comment - take the joke thread. You could say it is in light relief so should not count. But I have had many thank-yous from people about how much they enjoy it. I have kept all jokes emailed to me since 1996 - in text files at home. I just cut and paste them.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostYou are AtW and I claim my 5 rubles.

I doubt anything will change until tpd brings the server to its knees!Comment

IIRC they did a few years ago when they changed to the current forum software. I certainly remember being a member before the change-over and my old ID disappeared, so I had to re-register.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostYou are AtW and I claim my 5 rubles.

I suppose the number of posts doesn't matter, but on other forums (where things may be a bit more serious of atmosphere) you expect those with a high post count to be the experts. On here it's probably the opposite, seeing as they spend more time posting than coding!Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

Unless they get paid advertising revenue for page impressions, then they'll be laughing! TPD will be immortal.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

hmmm - good point! This could well explain why tpd has been tolerated for so long...Originally posted by PAH View PostUnless they get paid advertising revenue for page impressions, then they'll be laughing! TPD will be immortal.Comment

And why it wasn't deleted when Fortune Green blasted it with porn. Maybe you TPDers should claim a cut of the advertising revenue.Originally posted by BrilloPad View Posthmmm - good point!
