How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

The days of the 4X4 are numbered, enjoy them while you can because in a couple of years they will be harder to sell than a Lada. Infact already the second hand market is weak for these cars.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Ha, that wouldn't surprise me. There's a family near us who are all dedicated and medal winning roadies. Their collection of vehicles is astonishing, including a giant camper van for race meets and an enormous American 4x4 vehicle which people stop and stare at as it drives past.

The only problem I have with 4x4 is a minority of people use them to bully other motorists.
Why I like driving my lorry. Its amazing to see some 4x4 drivers get into that mindset where they have the "feck you...I'm king of the road" then realise that I am 20x heavier and 3xhigher than them and not stopping (its all about momentum conservation...good for the environment see).

Reminds me of a story a hgv driver got blocked in down london way by some arse in an 4x4 (old crappy thing). Asked the bloke to move it and he refused saying he "had a right to park there". The driver used the Hgv to shift his car and as they were on private property with signs saying "no liabiliuty etc etc" he couldnt even claim on insurance.

          Sweet.

              With cars?

Reminded me on saturday, I saw a spectacular accident with a 4X4 pulling a boat on the M40. Boat ended up in the cariageway, 4x4 was properly smashed and 6ft up the side of a wall. I bet he felt safe in the mortuary

Funny enough I have a Lamborghini T-Shirt that I bought in a Lambo showroom in Rome, it's the same one as the test drivers wear.

I always liked the story behind how Lambo cars came about, it was something to do with the Lambo boss turning up at the Ferrari boss's house and telling him his gearbox was tulip, the Ferrari boss told him to feck of and build his own cars if he didn't like what Ferrari were producing... So he did!
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Some caravans etc are just too heavy to be pulled with a car.

I am pretty sure he drove a 4x4 for reasons nothing to do with safety though!!!!

There are plenty of torquey 4 wheel drives that don't chuck out loads of sh1t. You certainly don't need a 5 litre v8 petrol, when a much smaller diesel has more torque, and when towing torque is king not BHP.

                      I agree. A pertol 4x4 is just pointless IMO. I have a 3L TD.
