If you could make the same money doing something else...
Oh sorry, a slight sense of satisfaction when the 4 digits appear in my electronic online bank account every week. Lasts about 2mins, max.
That’s what I'm talking about it's all about the money and nothing else, I miss using my hands.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
I'm starting to dislike this lark it doesn't excite me any more, if I could earn the same money making aircraft parts (like I used to) I would, there’s something satisfying about making a physical product then standing back and saying "I made that", I do support work and though fixing peoples problems does have a certain satisfaction it's just not the same.
Do coders/developers get a sense of achievement when they deliver a working project or do they also feel a bit empty? Just interested on peoples thoughts.
Yes, iNext year it will be 20 yrs of wading through an endless deluge of barely human feckwittage that passes for commercial IT bollox.
Self-employment and an indecent amount of dosh keeps me barely sane but I utterly loath, despise and hate the cretinous pantomine of 'Financial Sector' IT.
No matter how much of sefl-delusion, stupidity or incompetence you encounter it will always be outdone in the end.
I wanted to be a binman when I was a boy (seriously) but 'society' has turned me into this bitter twisted wretch.
Well the wife is pregnant so it has gone down hill in that area recently... maybe you're right.

In Sheffield the red light district begins outside the maternity hospital. Coincidence?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I was once told by my sister that when a woman is preggars, her sex drive goes through the roof and stays there until size makes it impossible for a bit of rumpey-pumpey. Wot's gone wrong, Jed?
