And there was me thinking he was making an oblique reference to Catford dog track (yes really).

    But perhaps not.

Edit: Really thanks MM - that hotel is lovely. It's getting booked
SA Good choice - went to lunch. Was going to recommend London Bridge as well. Some lovely boozers around there. Try the Market Porter (google it for details) for a friendly crowd and a wide selection of good ales.

Catford's Bad, Bromley is the narest, which is good, and the Bromley Court Hotel is good, I have a house in Bromley and lived there for 20 years.

Well you looked so stylish I thought you batted for the other camp - thats like the ultimate compliment!

SA - late in the day I know but I'm actually doing some work. Shock. Horror.

Agreed generally - don't spend any more time in Catford than you absolutely have to - it's a dump. Far better to stay in that hotel and commute out.

Edit: And let me know when you're down this way - London Bridge is just around the corner from me, and there are some great little eateries in Borough Market. Ale and pie. Smashing.

Although I only read post on this site 99% of the time, I thought I ought to also point out that staying in Catford would be a bum steer. Not the best of places that's for sure. I'd also like to second the Market Porter in London Bridge which is a superb boozer.
