How did NYC deal with their gang culture problems in the 70s/80s, as depicted in films like "The Warriors"? Seems London could do with learning some lessons.

The article indicates that many of the perps are asylum seekers rather than immigrants and when it goes on about post-traumatic stress it implies that the abusees have become the abusers.

My prediction is that Labour will set up a half-arsed attempt to provide counselling (if they don't already) for asylum seekers. It may have merit where there is evidence of genuine persecution, torture and mental illness, hence why they are seeking asylum, but at the hands of the goverment it will be ineffective, wasteful, and require a new IT system. Ok, I'm sold.

To sort out the rest who are classed as immigrants rather than asylum seekers, maybe that points system for immigrants needs to be retrospective, going back over the last 5-10 years where immigration has rocketed. If those already here are making a distinct beneficial contribution to the UK they'll have all the points they need to be able to stay. Too simple?
