Siemens... because it sounds like spunk, especially when they had offices in Staines, and the fact that Mrs hyperD works there and we get Siemens appliances through them at least 130% above Argos retail.

Benes old boy: You need to get the contractor mindset.

Buy the appliances that look best with your kitchen, cost is unimportant. When they break down or when you refit your kitchen you buy new ones anyway.

A 2 year life expectancy should be more than enough don't you think?

BTW. You do not need a dishwasher, you should be eating out. Nor do you need a washing machine or drier as you should only wear your clothes once.

You do need a realy good coffee machine and wine fridge.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

amazing how the yuppy house magazines are pushing the 500 to 1000 gbp coffee machines jeeez what a waste of manneeeeeeeee

what about the Whirlpool stuff from Ikea ?

looking at the Miele catalogue last night I was thinking to myself I wonder how the management there set their prices and then it came to me they just take the Siemens catalogue and double the prices on a like for like basis, easy init

                Milan,

do shop around online as well, I got my Miele washer and dryer for about 40% off the shop price.

Oh and if you're stacking them in the washroom (like mine) don't bother going for the slide out tray thing kit - just the bog standard stack kit is fine (and half the price)

Why do brits put their washing maschines in the kitchen anyway?

                  Hi Bob,

                  thanks for the feedback

yes thankfully we have a laundry room, and they won't need to be stacked.

To be honest I always worry about buying online and cheap prices

I have seimens and miele and hoover, candy and gorenje. IIRC I bought the ones that fitted the gaps best. Seem to be OK, I do my own repairs when they break, which was a belt on the dryer last time. Also had a couple or so motor rewinds, once replaced the motor and other bearings completely to make it quieter. Dunno why people need to get repair men out for such things, they really are simple and easy to work on. If you've warranty I can understand it, but after the 12 month guarentee I would expect someone with an engineering education to be way better at fixing them than some chap-in-a-van.
