WTC7 collapsed in 6.5 seconds. Get a stopwatch out and go to any video archive. Thats 0.5 seconds more than it would take for a rock or snooker ball to fall from the same height, with nothing in it's way, in a vacuum.
The height of the South Tower was 1362 feet. Freefall from that height, in a vacuum, is 9.2 seconds. The tower fell in 10 seconds.
A building, like a block of concrete, and indeed even the human body, is "mostly air". Most things are if you look at atomic theory. But to suggest that air, caught between each floor of a building, let alone the floors themselves, would not provide resistance to even millions of tonnes of mass above is preposterous.
Consider the Law of Conservation of Energy & the Law of Conservation of Momentum. When one object travels into another, which is at rest, the former experiences decelleration and the latter acelleration. Add gravity into the mix and you have a total time of 110 floors 'pancaking' in 15.5 seconds - and that's as if the floors were hovering in mid-air - with no vertical structure taken into account.
Buildings do not fall at or even close to freefall speed unless the supporting structures are removed smoothly from top to bottom at speed, as in controlled demolition, or all the floors fall at once - a simultaneous series of blasts. Again - as in controlled demolitions.
I believe that a proper investigation into just the 3 buildings' collapse would show there was evidence of explosives used. This is simple physics here after all.
I'm not interested - like I said before - in any of the other theories flying around, or any possible motives. This is the most concrete (excuse the pun) of questions to ask.

So what you're saying is that the bits at the top fell quicker to the ground than if there was nothing under them. Just think about that for a bit.
