I agree since 2000 and XP windows is as stable as any other os, I think it got this bad name from Windows ME (which would crash if you looked at it funny).

Just one previously and the current client. Another client was exclusivley Sun Sparcs.

Linux desktops? Interesting.

My last gig I rolled out Linux desktops to approx 300 retail locations, users were happy with them and they 'just worked'. My current gig we have Linux EPOS is 200 retail locations.

If Windows is so bad, how many clients have you worked at where they had Linux on all the desktops? How many?

1 contract job for me, and 1 permie job.

Also been to a place that was 100% Mac (apart from the receptionists for some reason).

They actually used Mac notebooks for all that stuff. I migrated a few to Windows but they eventually went back to using Macs. An impressive company indeed and I was sorry to leave that contract.
