What amazes me about these people are why they appear in interviews with the press?

The Soham guy did it as well. It's hardly rocket science is it. Do the police wait for the local press to go round, do a couple of interviews and the bloke hanging around going 'talk to me, talk to me' is probably your man.

Isn't Sun Reader an oxymoron?

I watched a Sun reader on the train once. I couldn't work out why it took so long to read a page of mostly pictures and a few lines of text.
Is it I wondered, a form of dyslexia? or maybe the pictures contained some hidden information within those dots than I was not privvy to.
